Drawing Against Oblivion Exhibit & Special Event with Artist MANFRED BOCKELMANN

Milton & Betty Katz Jewish Community Center and Sara and Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center at Stockton University Present Drawing Against Oblivion

This art exhibit features charcoal portraits of children who were victims during the
Holocaust. Many of the portraits that will be on display at the JCC in Margate are linked
to Holocaust survivors and their families from Atlantic, Cape May, and Cumberland
Counties. The artist, Manfred Bockelmann, explains: “I want to get these children out of
the darkness, and I will continue to draw my portraits as long as I can.”

• Docent-led tours for school groups (grades 5 – 12 and college).

• Viewing of the award-winning documentary film, Drawing against Oblivion, followed by a discussion with Manfred Bockelmann and Dr. Marion Hussong.
