The celebration recognizes individuals and organizations who have made exceptional contributions to improving the South Jersey community

Margate, NJ (March 26, 2018) – The Milton & Betty Katz Jewish Community Center honored The AMI Foundation of Atlantic Medical Imaging for its continuing commitment to the communities it serves with their Community Leadership Award during the JCC’s Annual Gala held March 22, 2018. About 150 supporters and guests gathered at The Noyes Arts Garage in Atlantic City to honor The AMI Foundation and helped raise close to $60,000 for the Milton & Betty Katz JCC Scholarship fund.

“We are deeply honored to be recognized for the work the AMI Foundation has done to make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve,” said Dr. David Levi, Vice President, AMI Foundation.

“Attendance at the event was a clear reflection of how much The AMI Foundation is valued for its services to the community,” said Katz JCC CEO, Jack I. Fox. “The evening brought an impressive array of business and community leaders together in one place and allowed the JCC to recognize a wonderful organization while raising almost $60,000 for the Katz JCC Youth and Senior Scholarship funds. The AMI Foundation of Atlantic Medical Imaging has made a major difference in the lives of so many through their philanthropic endeavors in our local community. We are pleased to recognize their efforts to make our community a better place,” said Katz JCC Chief Executive Officer, Jack I. Fox.

“We are so excited to honor the AMI Foundation which donates funding for innumerable services, including diagnostic testing and providing to local charities which give back to the community residents in need,” said Gala Co-Chair, Susan Cohen.

The Katz JCC presented two $1,000 scholarship awards to Boys & Girl Club of Atlantic City recipients, Abena Garrett and Iveon Cash, who have both exemplified extraordinary character and diligence while maintaining a high GPA as they continue their path onto college.

Guests at the Gala enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, Jazz band favorite, The Eddie Morgan Trio, a cigar bar sponsored by Lighthouse Planning Consultants and delicious Kosher food.
The Katz JCC Annual Gala is an opportunity to recognize individuals and organizations who have had a positive community impact and to celebrate their business, political and philanthropic achievements. In turn, the event helps the Katz JCC raise funds to further its mission to provide the children and seniors of Atlantic County, as well as the community as a whole, programs and services that enhance and enrich lives.

“This is an event that both recognizes the AMI foundation and supports needy individuals in JCC programs with scholarships,” said JCC Board President and Gala Co-Chair, Marc Neumann.
