Antoinette is the Health and Wellness Director and Program Coordinator for our Live Long Live Strong Program.
Antoinette has over 32 years’ programing experience in the fitness industry. She has a BA in Education from Stockton College and her fitness certifications are from: Les Mills Body Pump, Spinning, TRX, Bender Ball, Pilates, Step Aerobics, Resist-A-Ball, Tabata and PUMPIN’ Iron.
Antoinette’s role at the JCC affords her the opportunity to meet with a wide array of members who are at different levels of fitness. When Antoinette is asked, “Why JCC group exercise?” her response is: “The answer is simple. We have put together an amazing team of group exercise instructors and personal trainers who provide a wide array of workouts that will help you reach your fitness goals.”
The Katz JCC Fitness Facility offers over 85 group fitness classes per week and experienced personal trainers.
Alex has always made an extra effort to keep himself and those around him active. Growing up his house was the place to meet in the neighborhood to get any sort of pick-up game going. Driven by his competitive nature, Alex took those opportunities to learn a vast amount about a variety of activities. This led to a decorative (youth-current) sporting career having competed in 5 different functions with aspirations to participate in a few more. Alex’s active sporting lifestyle helped naturally spark a realization in the correlating importance of physical health and fitness training in accompaniment with sports and everyday activities. Throughout this journey Alex has been able to work with numerous athletes (amateur/collegiate/professional) and assist in guiding the (significant) weight loss of one of his best friends/ with a NASM Certification in physical fitness and a healthy desire to work with others, Alex Hopes to help you in the pursuit of building your best self.
Michelle coaches because she loves to support people in their health and fitness goals. She lives for their “ah-ha” moments! Her X-Factor is her energy and enthusiasm. Fun Fact: Michelle was a Season 5 at home trainer for ABC’s Extreme Weight Loss with Chris and Heidi Powell. Her client lost over 100lbs by incorporating proper nutrition, regular exercise and lifestyle changes.
Michelle holds a degree from ASU in BS Health sciences. Her certifications include: ACE, Certified Personal Trainer; Behavior Change Specialist; CrossFit L1; Gymnastics; Kids,
Endurance and Olympic Lifting certified. Michelle is an OPEX Assessment and Program Design. She has held certifications in RKC Dragon Door Kettlebells.
Donna has been working in the health and fitness industry professionally since 1987. During this time she has amassed a wide variety of experience, certifications and specialties within the field. She holds certifications for both land and water-based personal training programs. She is a nationally certified Master Water Fitness Instructor and is qualified to certify aquatic instructors through the USWFA.
Donna holds certifications in several specific areas of fitness programs including aerobics, weightlifting, cycling, yoga, meditation, Pilates (mat work and reformer), CPO, CPR, First Aid, and massage therapy. She also serves as the JCC’s in-house massage therapist. In addition, she has attained group exercise certification from the Aerobics and Fitness Association of American (AFAA), and is certified through the American Aerobics Association International (AAAI). Donna also earned an Associates degree in Applied Science and Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Physiology.
Sean has no off-button. He tirelessly works to improve himself and his craft. If asked, he will say fitness has saved his life. Sean discovered his passion for fitness through athletics starting at a young age. He has played basketball, football, baseball, and volleyball. But he had the most success in high school wrestling and combat sports such as boxing, kickboxing, and jiu-jitsu. He still fights in semi-pro MMA bouts and strives to reach the next level. Pursuing new levels of competition has fueled ever increasing fitness goals and knowledge for Sean. Shortly thereafter, he decided to combine his love for helping others with his love for fitness. As an athlete, Sean has dealt with a multitude of nagging injuries and is fascinated by the recovery piece of fitness, which he has studied in depth out of necessity. With a complementary approach to strength training and cardio-vascular conditioning, he emphasizes functional strength and endurance and tailors it to the specific goals of his
clients. Recently, Sean has enrolled in a NASM certification and has been certified for Personal Training under AAAI-ISM. He has channeled his competitive attitude, fitness knowledge, compassion, and intrapersonal skills into an ever-expanding practice of physical and personal wellness. There are several more areas of anatomical study Sean wishes to learn.
Peggy brings more than 10 years experience as a personal trainer and is certifications in indoor cycling and senior adult fitness to her position at the JCC. An avid runner, Peggy has competed across the country in 36 marathons and over 100 half marathons. She proudly and consistently finishes in the top five of her age group. In additio
n to her work at the JCC, Peggy serves as a certified track official for local high schools.
Peggy resides in Margate where she has happily raised her three children.
Kelly has worked in the fitness, health and wellness industry for over 30 years. She began her career teaching aerobics classes while growing up in Florida before relocating to Massachusetts. Upon graduating from the College of the Holy Cross she continued to study, earn numerous certifications, and share her knowledge of
fitness while working in health clubs, senior centers, aquatic centers, corporate health facilities, park and recreation programs and her own home studio.
In 2007, Kelly founded Every Body Balance, Metro West Boston’s premier and largest Pilates, yoga, private training, Barre, and Core Training fitness studio. Based on applied functional science, she developed the Total Body Control Method of training which she taught and employed at her studio for nearly ten years.
Kelly is most passionate about the physical therapy aspect of training. Her main goal is that each client experiences a better quality of life through pain free range of motion, through modification of any exercise, or design a new variation to fit her clients’ needs and to help them achieve or exceed their fitness goals.
Kelly resides in Egg Harbor Township with her husband and family. Her hobbies include weight training with her son, swimming laps, biking, paddle boarding, jet skiing and playing with her two dogs, Magnum and Bella.
Jon Simon has been working in the fitness industry for over 18 years. Jon holds certifications from ACSM, ISSA as well as through the YMCA. Additional certifications include kettle bells, CPR and First Aid. Jon works with clients of all ages and fitness levels. He also works with various businesses on team building exercises, fitness classes for area schools, sports team training, and mentoring programs.
Jon created the charity known as Boxx for Tots, a holiday toy drive which collects new toys for families in need throughout Atlantic County. Developing Boxx for Tots, has afforded him the opportunity to work with and augment the efforts of several local charitable organizations and agencies including but not limited to DYFS, Atlantic County Women’s Shelter and Gilda’s Club.
As a boxing coach and trainer, Jon has worked with athletes from amateur to
professional levels, while allowing him to travel the world.
Greg Troast has been a personal trainer with the JCC since 2006. He previously worked as a law enforcement officer for the Atlantic City Police Department. In 1992 he obtained certifications with the State of New Jersey as a Fitness and Aerobics Instructor and Trainer at the Cooper Institute of Aerobics. Greg spent 10 years as a Fitness Trainer for the Atlantic County Police Academy. He also served as a Titleist Performance Instructor in Golf Movement in 2012. He currently lives in Northfield with his wife and son.
Born in North Africa and raised in Paris, France, Aline Catorc has been a fitness professional with the Jewish Community Center for 19 years. Aline began her fitness journey studying the Brazilian martial art Capoeira. She continued on to study ballet for 16 years and built an extensive background in different styles of dance including belly dancing and Zumba. Aline’s training focuses primarily on engaging, lengthening, strengthening and toning the entire body. Aline believes that fitness is not only a practice, but a way of being, and she works to teach that mindset to clients.
Aline has personal training certifications in Gravity and Pilates Reformer, US Water Fitness, indoor biking, Zumba, AAAI-ISMA Personal Fitness Trainer, and Group Exercise Instructor.
