ESPN’s Adam Schefter joins the Sixth Annual Jackie & Hank Herskowitz Sports Night fundraising event as the headline speaker on Thursday, August 12 at 6pm at the Katz JCC, 501 N. Jerome Avenue in Margate, NJ. “After having to cancel the JCC Sports Night last summer due to the devastating effects of COVID-19, I am thrilled to once again be able to hold this event. Our guest speaker, Adam Schefter, is one of the biggest names in sports reporting. As always, this will be a fantastic event raising money for kids’ programs,” said Jeff Herskowitz, Chairman of the Katz JCC Sports Night fundraising event.
Adam Schefter is a Senior NFL Insider at ESPN. He joined ESPN as an NFL Insider in August 2009, and now appears on a variety of programs, including NFL Live, Sunday NFL Countdown, Monday Night Countdown, SportsCenter and more throughout the year. He also hosts his own ESPN Audio podcast, “The Adam Schefter Podcast.” One of the top sports reporters in the industry, Schefter has covered the NFL since 1990. His influence extends to Twitter, where he has almost eight million followers, along with over one million on Instagram, and close to that on Facebook. Schefter has earned numerous accolades for his work. Sports Illustrated’s NFL site, The MMQB, named him the 2014 Media Person of the Year for breaking multiple significant stories during the NFL’s free agent period and off-season. In October 2010, Sports Illustrated included Schefter in its “Power 40+”, a listing of the most influential people involved in theNFL. A former president of the Pro Football Writers of America, Schefter has authored five books. Schefter, who is involved in a variety of philanthropic work, is active with Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), acting to raise funds and awareness for Diabetes, as his wife, Sharri, is a Type 1 diabetic. The JCC’s Sports Night event has been named after the late Jackie & Hank Herskowitz of Margate whose philanthropy helped so many. Their philanthropic legacy will continue with the Sixth Annual Jackie & Hank Herskowitz Sports Night fundraising event, which raises money for its scholarship fund to further its mission to provide the children and seniors of Atlantic County, as well as the community as a whole, programs and services that enhance and enrich their lives.
General Admission for Sports Night is one ticket for $200 and includes dinner, open bar, and auctions. Ticket packages and sponsorship opportunities are available and include a VIP Meet and Greet with Adam Schefter during the reception.
