Following the great success of last year’s JFS vs. JCC Golf Tournament, the two agencies are excited to once again vie for the winner’s trophy and bragging rights. Scheduled for May 28th at Linwood Country Club, this men’s and women’s competition style tournament will bring the community together for a great day of golf, contests, prizes and more. With team JCC claiming the winner’s trophy last year, JFS is seeking redemption and hopes to win the trophy at this year’s tournament.
Led by co-chairs Darren Matik, for Team JFS, and Joan Glick, for Team JCC, the golf committee is excited to welcome back elements from last year’s tournament as well as add exciting new on-course activities and contests.
“Last year the joint tournament set the stage offering a great day for both JFS and JCC supporters,” commented Matik. “But the 2015 tournament will be one to remember with new contests, amazing prizes and more friendly competition among the agencies.”
The 2014 tournament raised nearly $45,000 to support both Jewish Family Service and the Milton and Betty Katz Jewish Community Center; however the committee hopes to surpass that number and has set a goal of $57,000 this year. The funds raised will help JFS and the Katz JCC further their mission to provide the children and seniors of Atlantic County, as well as the community as a whole, programs and services that enhance and enrich their lives.
“This fundraising event supports two wonderful organizations that help so many in our community,” said Glick. “From summer camp to transportation to senior nutrition, the funds raised during this tournament will help provide a variety of essential programs and services.”
Tickets are $225 per golfer and sponsorship opportunities are available. For ticket or sponsorship information or to get involved with the committee, please contact Beth Joseph at 609-822-7409 or firstname.lastname@example.org or Julie Fink at 609-822-1167 x 159 or email@example.com.
