GROUP EXERCISE CLASS DESCRIPTIONS (Group X and BIKE Studios)

Active Adult/Balance and Conditioning

Stronger muscles and healthier bones help improve stability and balance.  Join Maryann as she helps you stay active and fit by taking you through a series of stability and balance exercises.

Barre BURN (including ‘EXPRESS)

All the fitness benefits of ballet without a formal dance class. Work is done mostly on the ‘barre’ to tone, strengthen and improve flexibility. Suited for everyone!

CARDIO BOXING

A cardio-based class designed to challenge your mind, strengthen your core, improve your balance and flexibility by incorporating pad-work and boxing fundamentals. This class is designed for everyone.

CORE CAMP

Tone and strengthen your core by leveraging your body. Sweat like never before. Suited for everyone.

Hi/Lo H.I.I.T.

High/Low Intensity Interval training with low impact modifications. Suited for all fitness levels.

Indoor Cycling (a/k/a “Spinning”)

Burn between 400-700 calories as you’re visually guided through hills, flats and any other terrain that a bike can get to. INTENSE CARDIO. Beginners are welcome! Suited for everyone.

INSANITY

This workout regimen is similar to ‘P90X’ in that improves fitness through stamina training. Max interval training, is a method of exercising during which one works out strenuously for 3–4 minutes and then cools down for approximately 30 seconds before starting the whole process over again. Get noticeable results through core strength, as well as intense cardio training. Get ready to push your limits and watch your body adapt! Intermediate to Advanced fitness levels only.

LITE COMBO

Low impact conditioning and resistance using a step (optional), weights, bands and tubing. Suited for everyone.

MoveIT1*

Seated chair workout designed for anyone seeking to improve strength, flexibility & joint mobility.

MoveIT2*

A great cardio workout emphasizing fun and fabulous music…designed for anyone seeking to improve balance, cardiovascular strength, flexibility and joint mobility. Suited for everyone.

PILOXING

This fun workout uniquely mixes Pilates and boxing into a fat torching and muscle sculpting guaranteed to whip you into shape. Experience the transformation as you attain a slick, sexy and powerful self-image. Suited for all and guaranteed to ‘hook’ you right in!

PUMPIN’ IRON

SIGN-IN REQUIRED 15 MIN PRIOR TO CLASS. SIGN IN SHEET IS LOCATED IN GROUP EXERCISE STUDIO. PLEASE DO NOT CALL FRONT DESK. FOR SAFETY REASONS, THERE WILL BE NO ADMITTANCE 5 MINUTES AFTER ANY OF THE PUMPIN’ IRON CLASSES BEGIN. Stave off osteoporosis and increase bone density. Resistance training with a focus on low weight loads and high repetition movements. Burn fat, gain strength and quickly produce lean body muscle conditioning all with using a barbell. Suited for everyone.

Resist-A-Ball

An ‘old school’ classic that never goes out of style! Stretch and tone muscles you never knew you had. Hit all your muscles hard – especially your core. Modifications offered and beginners are welcome. Suited for everyone.

TABATA BOOT CAMP

A group training program based on High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) using the 20-10 Microburst Training Protocol. These workouts result in true, successful weight loss and muscle gain. These exercises will deliver amazing body transformation results. ‘TABATA CORE’ and ‘TABATA CYCLE’ incorporate same training protocol.

TABATA Core

High Intensity Interval training for the core. Suited for everyone.

TOTAL BODY CONDITIONING

Combines intervals of strength, cardio and core moves to firm trouble zones.

T.R.A.I.N.

Technique, Resistance, Aerobic, Interval, No-Nonsense drills. All levels welcome – modifications offered.

ZUMBA

Fun Latin-based cardio work out. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Suited for everyone.

MIND/BODY STUDIO CLASSES

CHI KUNG

This system uses slow, gentle movements, mental concentration and physical relaxation to enhance overall wellness. The goal is to work with life force (chi or qi) within and around us, to harmonize the mind and body to increase health and prevent illness. Benefits include better balance, reduced stress, lower blood pressure, relief from joint discomfort, improve respiration, circulation and digestion. Suited for everyone.

HATHA YOGA & More and “SLOW FLOW”

Gentle flow incorporating breathing techniques (prana/yama), as well as meditation, guided visualization and relaxation, as well as wall postures and ball asanas. Recommended for beginners and suited for everyone. Modifications will be offered. “Stretch & Strength” – Same gentle flow with a focus on strengthening and holding stretches.

KRIPALU YOGA

A form of Hatha Yoga using inner focus, meditation, standard yoga poses, breathwork, “development of a quiet mind” and relaxation. Emphasizes “following the flow” of prana, or “life-force energy, compassionate self-acceptance, observing the activity of the mind without judgment, and taking what is learned into daily life. Suited for everyone.

POWER YOGA

Come prepared to push your limits. A vigorous, fitness-based approach to vinyasa style yoga.

PILATES

Focus on breathing, posture and body alignment. Enhance muscle control and core stability. Get rid of that back pain by strengthening that core. Suited for everyone.

VINYASA YOGA/Mixed Level

Linking of body movement with breath; a specific sequence of breath-synchronized movements used to transition between sustained postures; setting an intention for one’s personal yoga practice and taking the necessary steps toward reaching that goal. Suited for everyone.

Yogalates

Fusion of Yoga and Pilates. Suited for everyone.

Jon Simon ‘Rogue’ Boxing

High energy intense boxing with cardio circuits included. Please arrive 15 minutes early to have hands wrapped. All fitness levels encouraged to participate. All levels of fitness are welcome.
