READY TO JUMP IN?

The Katz JCC Swim Program offers one of the highest levels of instruction in the area in both our indoor and outdoor heated pools. All instructors are certified lifeguards with CPR/AED and First Aid training. Our goal at the Katz JCC is to improve swimmers’ water safety, while being comfortable, gaining confidence, and having fun in a safe age-appropriate skill-centric approach. All swim lessons are offered in either a six-week or eight-week session with one lesson per week, and are open to Members and Non-Members of the Katz JCC.

GROUP LESSONS

In a peer influenced environment, swimmers will be able to develop their strokes and master the fundamentals with a comprehensive and result driven program that stresses water safety. Beginning at the Tadpole (6 months to 2 years) and Minnow levels (2 to 3 years), a parent accompanies their child in the pool and introduces them to the water using conditioning, progressions and technique. Skill sets are required for each level before moving on to the next level. Other levels include Frogs, Seahorses, and Turtles.

*Please note that swimmers will be placed in levels according to their age and ability level.

Once the Turtle level is mastered, the instruction advances to Otter (Beginner), Tiger Shark (Intermediate) and Great White Shark (Advanced) preparing them for our competition-based swim team, the Margate Sharks. These pre-swim team levels will enhance the student’s endurance training, stroke refinement and the introduction of new strokes.

About the USA Swimming Foundation’s Make a Splash Initiative

The USA Swimming Foundation’s Make a Splash initiative is a national child-focused water safety campaign, which aims to provide the opportunity for every child in America to learn to swim. Through Make a Splash, the USA Swimming Foundation partners with learn-to-swim providers and water safety advocates across the country to provide swimming lessons and educate children and their families on the importance of learning how to swim. The USA Swimming Foundation has invested millions of dollars to provide grants to qualified Local Partner learn-to-swim programs, to spread national awareness, and to bring together strategic partners to end drowning.  To date, more than 4 million children have received the lifesaving gift of swim lessons through the USA Swimming Foundation Make a Splash Local Partner network, comprised of more than 750 qualified lesson providers across the nation.
