Aqua Class Descriptions

Aqua Zumba with Vanessa

Known as the Zumba “pool party”, Aqua Zumba gives new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Splashing, stretching, twisting – even shouting, laughing, hooting and hollering – are often heard during a class. Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, this class blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body-toning and, most of all, exhilarating beyond belief. Class is offered in the water at chest level, all levels are welcome. (60 mins)

Born Before ‘64 with Ed

This class offers more of an intensive workout that will give the intermediate-advanced participant a hard workout without the hard impact on your body. Aerobics, strength and resistance exercises are all combined in this class that finishes with a series of stretches and flexibility exercises. This class is offered in the shallow end and ranges from medium to high intensity workouts. (45 mins)

Deep H2O Challenge with Ed

Get over your fear of the deep end in an Aqua Jogger Belt. You will no longer be bound by the principals of gravity and will be free to tap into your no longer hidden potential. Impact influences speed, endurance, pain and fitness. By taking impact and gravity out of the exercise equation, you can move faster, improve cardio and burn more calories than you ever have before. This is a deep water class and prior experience is strongly recommended. This is for the moderate to experienced participant. (45 mins)

Hydro Fit With Lisa

Formally known as “Aqua Burn.” This class is taught in deep water using Aqua belts and weights. This class will pump you up, mentally and physically. Lots of core conditioning combined with strength and endurance exercises. (60 mins)

Tabata H20 with Lawrence

This high intensity interval training (HIIT) uses 20 second burst and 10 seconds rest that result in both aerobic and anaerobic capacity. Tabata uses an interval training cycle of maximum intensity exercises followed by a short rest and repeated without pause 4-8 times. This class is offered in the shallow end and is great for all fitness levels because you go at your own pace. You will be increasing the intensity according to your fitness level. (60 mins)

Water Wellness with Lisa

This class is perfect for the beginner to intermediate. Those with risk factors and/or injuries are encouraged to take this class. The focus is on moderate fluid movements that incorporate ROM (Range-of-Motion) exercises, resistance and flexibility while paying special attention to those at risk. This class is offered in the shallow end, which is great for beginners and those who struggle with typical day to day range of motion movements. (60 mins)

Water Weight Training & Core Aqua Concepts with Ed

Water weighs 8lbs per gallon. The faster you move, the greater the volume. You dictate the work load. Without the traditional overload principle there is no down time. This unique core workout you just have to try to find out how different of an approach it is (45 mins)
