The Katz JCC is proud to announce that the line-up for the summer series of entertainment for 2018 is better than ever with performances by Comedian & Actor, Tom Arnold, Grammy Award Winner Singer/Songwriter, Melissa Manchester, Star of “Million Dollar Quartet, Lance Lipinsky and Broadway, Pop and Jazz A Capella group, Blue Jupiter. Tickets for the entire entertainment series will go on sale January 22. Tickets to individual shows will go on sale February 5th.
A Capella Performance of Pop, Jazz, Standards & Broadway
The Summer Series kicks off with a bang with Blue Jupiter, an energetic blend of pop lead vocals, jazzy a cappella harmony and funky beatbox that has garnered standing ovations in 40 states and around the world. Blue Jupiter has worked with producer and American Idol Judge, Randy Jackson, Third Eye Blind and Stella McCartney and sang with Livingston Taylor and Adam Young of Owl City. They performed for 1st Lady Laura Bush, Dick Asher (head of CBS records). Blue Jupiter has performed on Oprah, VH1’s Save the Music, LifetimeTV, Food Network, Microsoft, Honda, The Weather Channel and on Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.
“Rock Baby Rock” Featuring Lance Lipinsky Singer & Star of “Million Dollar Quartet”
Combined with high energy showmanship, “Rock Baby Rock” features Big Band, Rhythm & Blues, Western Swing, Rockabilly, Doo Wop, the Teen Idol influence, Soul, Surf, the British Invasion and Motown; all contributed to Rock & Roll. Lance Lipinsky played Jerry Lewis in Chicago’s Tony Award-Winning “Million Dollar Quartet.”
Comedian & Actor
As a stand-up comic and never scripted, Arnold is a ball of chaos and charisma on stage and pokes fun at his Midwest past, marital follies and absurd Hollywood stories. Arnold hosted “The Best Damn Sports Show Period,” on Fox Sports Network and “My Big Redneck” franchise on CMT. He has played resident comic relief on “Nine Months” with Hugh Grant, Julianne Moore and Robin Williams, “True Lies” with Arnold Schwarzenegger, “Hero” with Dustin Hoffman and “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery” with Mike Myers. Arnold can be seen in “Grassroots” with Stephen Gyllenhaal, “Madea’s Witness Protection with Tyler Perry, “Hit and Run” with Dac Shepard, Kristen Bell and Bradley Cooper, “Any Day” with Sean Bean, Eva Longoria and Kate Walsh, “Sin City Saints,” a Yahoo Comedy Series, with Andrew Santino and Malin Akerman, “Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon,” “I am Chris Farley” and in Season 10 of “Trailer Park Boys” on Netflix. Arnold wrote the highly successful television series, “Roseanne,” before eventually serving as Executive Producer for the sitcom.
Grammy Award Winner, Singer/Songwriter
Melissa Manchester is a Grammy Award winner for hit “You Should Hear How She Talks About You” (Best Female Pop Vocal Performance), an Academy Award Nominee for hit “Through The Eyes of Love” from “Ice Castles” and “I’ll Never Say Goodbye” from “The Promise,” and a Governor’s Award Winner from the National Academy of Recording Arts & Science for her contributions to the music & recording arts. Her body of work as a singer/songwriter was a featured exhibit at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum. Manchester has appeared on the “Blossom” television series and in films, “For the Boys” and “Dirty Girl.” Her Blockbuster hits include the following but not all: “Midnight Blue,” “Don’t Cry Out Loud,” and “You Should Hear How She Talks About You.”
All show times begin at 7pm at Katz JCC Auditorium, 501 N. Jerome Avenue in Margate. The Entire Entertainment Series tickets go on sale January 22 at the Katz JCC Box Office for $199 per person and includes all four shows. Individual ticket sales go on sale February 5th. Blue Jupiter tickets are $50 per person. “Rock Baby Rock” with Lance Lipinsky tickets are $50 per person. Tom Arnold tickets are $65 per person. Melissa Manchester tickets are $65 per person.
