Kids Sports & Fitness Festival Sunday, March 15, 2015 Focus on Lifestyle, Health and Activity for Children

for fitness announcmentMARGATE – The focus of the Katz JCC Kids Sports & Fitness Festival on Sunday, March 15 is to provide one day of education, information and activity for children to learn about and experience ways in which to engage and remain healthy and fit.

According to Katz JCC Chief Executive Officer Jack I. Fox, the event is shaping up to be a huge success with its focus on lifestyle, health and activity for children.

The event will feature sports clinics, health screenings and sports-related injury discussions, sport equipment sales and demos, sign-ups for local sports teams, and children’s activities.

“It has the formula for success and we believe it will become the premiere event in South Jersey dedicated to kids sports and physical fitness,” Katz JCC CEO Jack I. Fox said. “This event falls in line with our mission promoting the health, education and welfare of our members and the community as a whole and we are excited to be able to offer this event to South Jersey.”

Health Screenings will be provided by CHOP Care Network – Harborview of Somers Point, discussions on sports-related injuries and treatments will be hosted by Dr. Ryan Buccafurni of Fox Outpatient Clinic of Northfield, Rothman Institute and the official event “Sports Doc” Dr. Brian Sokalsky of Jersey Shore Sports Medicine of Ocean City.

“The 2015 Kids Sports & Fitness Festival is a one-stop shop for sports enthusiasts. Whether you’re an athlete, a coach or a parent, you’ll find something that resonates for you here, from fitness clinics to nutritional advice, health screenings, sports clinics, sports gear and more. Sports Clinics will be held by Jersey Shore Gymnastics, Smiling Dragon Kung Fu, The Running Center, Katz JCC KIDZ Fit Boxing and Zumba, Oceanside Wellness & Sport and Parisi Speed School, Northfield Sports and Recreation Committee (FAN) and more.

There will also be fun activities including a basketball free-throw, rock climbing wall, football toss and more, as well as refreshments for purchase.

Admission is free and open to the public.

The Kids Sports & Fitness Festival will be held on Sunday, March 15, 501 N. Jerome Avenue in Margate from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
